SND28 Home Game:
The results are in!

Ok, so Otto was a little late with the results to the Guess the Newspaper Home Game. (He never was good with deadlines ... More of a projects guy.) But if you are wondering which papers were which, you can find the answers on the SND28HomeGame Flickr stream.

And for all of you out there wondering who the Big Winner is ... it's STEVE ZIMMERMAN of the Oregonian who guessed 11 out of 26 papers correctly! For his 11 correct answers Steve wins Carl Kasell's voice on his home answering machine!*

Nice work, Steve!

*Probably not, unless he knows Carl's phone number. He will, however, recieve a coveted SND28 International Web Desk Mouse Pad! Huzzah!

SND28 Home Game:
Name that newspaper

Otto the Orange has been giving you a sampling of the entries tables for the past two days. Today, he came up with a challenge. He's picked out 26 newspaper pages that were entered into the competition -- one for each letter of the alphabet. For example, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution could be 'A,' the Baltimore Sun could be 'B,' and El Comercio could be 'C.'

But they're not.

Only Otto knows which papers he pulled for the slideshow (below) and he has purposefully obscured the nameplates. The challenge: Can you figure out what newspapers are represented?

Send your best guesses, in order, to sndwebdesk@gmail.com along with your name and hometown. We'll reveal the person with the most correct answers Monday night -- and post the full-frame images. The winner might even get a sweet prize!* Good luck - but be careful, while there are a couple "gimmies" there are also a couple of trick pages meant to trip you up!

*Sweet prize not available in all areas. Some restrictions apply. Please see the Terms and Conditions for full details. Available only at participating retailers. Pictures, descriptions, and accounts of this game may not be reproduced without the express written consent of Major League Baseball. Void where prohibited.

Meet Otto: SND's 28th Judge

Otto

Somewhere between the 6th Man and the 19th Hole lies Otto the Orange, SND's 28th Judge. While the 27 official judges of SND's Best of Newspaper Design competition pour over the thousands of entries on the tables at Drumlins, the Syracuse University mascot will be one step ahead of them, picking out his favorite entries from the day. His choices, however, in no way reflect either winners or losers in the competition. (His picks are non-binding as there have been allegations that he can be a bit of a cheerleader for his own publication, The Daily Orange ('natch). Also, some have pointed out that he is, in fact, a "citrus fruit.")

But with so much great work on the tables here, we thought you might enjoy seeing some pages that Otto likes. Point your browser over to Flickr and filter for photos tagged "snd28otto" or just click here.

Again, keep in mind that Otto's Picks are not part of the competition. This is only an exhibition. Please, no wagering.
