Los 72 premios conseguidos por el diseño de sus páginas, ilustraciones e infografías convierten a este diario en el tercero más galardonado en el mundo este año, en el concurso que convoca la Sociedad de Diseño de Noticias (SND)
El rediseño del periódico Excélsior hace historia al romper el récord de premios nunca antes obtenido por un diario mexicano dentro de la competencia de la Sociedad de Diseño de Noticias (SND por sus siglas en inglés), que en su 28 edición otorgó a esta casa editorial 72 premios que lo ubicaron en tercer lugar a nivel mundial, sólo detrás de The New York Times y de Los Angeles Times.
El rediseño de todo el periódico, que arrancó el pasado 22 de marzo, dio a Excélsior una de las ocho medallas de oro que la SND entregó al mismo número de diarios este año, entre los más de dos mil diarios y revistas participantes alrededor del mundo.
El periódico también recibió siete medallas de plata, dos reconocimientos especiales del jurado y 62 premios a la excelencia, tanto por sus páginas diarias como por su trabajo en coberturas especiales en eventos como las elecciones del pasado 2 de Julio o el Mundial de Futbol en Alemania. The redesign of Excélsior made history by breaking the record number of prizes awarded to a single Mexican newspaper in this year's Society for News Design competition. In its 28th edition, SND awarded Excélsior 72 prizes, making it the third-most paper world-wide, second only to The New York Times and The Los Angeles Times. The overall redesign of the newspaper, that debuted March 22 last year, gave Excélsior one of the eight gold medals that the SND gave to the same number of newspapers this year, between more than two thousand participant newspapers and magazines from around the world. The newspaper also received seven silver medals, two special awards of the jury and 62 awards of excellence, as much for its daily pages as for its work in special coverage of events like the elections of last July 2, or the World.
