1:30 p.m. update

We're now just past the first lunch break at Syracuse (deli sandwiches, salad, black bean soup) and the judging teams are now getting back to work. The 27 judges have reviewed a little more than 1,700 entries already and have handed out more than 70 awards. There is also quite a handful of medal candidates up for discussion later this afternoon.
